3 Among the followers of Bheem Singh, there was
4 a man named Hurree Singh, a native of the Punjab. Hurree Singh,
5 He was of a daring spirit, and on the death of
6 Bheem Singh, succeeded to the head of the Missul,,
7 Hurree Singh speedily increased the number of
8 his followers; and on the death of Mulla Singh and
9 Juggut Singh, their places were filled by Ghurida Ghunda$ngh.

11 Hurree Singh made war on Ahmed Shah, and
12 having conquered Khwajah Oobeid, the governor
13 of Lahore, ho seized his artillery and other pro¬
14 perty. Among the guns captured on this occasion,
15 there was a large one constructed by Juhan Khan,
16 which bears the name of the captor to this day,
17 being the well-known Bhungee top,* fpi>ge<?
18 A man named Georbuksh Singh, commonly
19 known as Orawala, who had been Missuldar to
20 Bheem Singh, had a grandson named Goojur Poojur sjagh
21 Singh, who with another Jat named Lena Singh Singh join the
22 were ameers in the army., These two, alter Go or-
23 buksh Singh’s death, joined Hurree Singh in his
24 endeavour to conquer the Punjab; and each Seized
25 a portion of country, named after them, Goojera-
26 wala and Kalawala, which give titles to sirdarS at
27 the present day.
28 Hurree Singh went against. Jummoo, and made
29 war on the Malwa and Manja Sikhs, abiding be-
