4 waida, X received fresh supplies from Agra and Calcutta. Injec¬
5 tions of its tincture are recommended in hydrocele.
6 Digital, pitrp. folia (II.) Bleeding at the nose. Diarr¬
7 hoea. Expectoration of blood, or of mucus.
8 Diobitxs —is a green stone found in the bazaar at Lahore,
9 where it is sold in pieces the size of peas. It is used is a color,
10 mixed with lime, in painting their houses. It certainly deserves
11 attention ; os, by analysis, the constituent parts of it are found to
12 be the same as those of Sung e Busre'e; (v. this article)
13 which proved so efficacious in Clioleriwuorbus.
14 Diorit. (I.) Giddiness. Inflammation of the throat.
15 Itching. Pain in the knee. Soreness of the mouth.
16 Thoracic pain.
17 Dioscokea sativa —is a tuberous root, which, during the cold
18 season, is found in the vegetable bazaars at Lahore. Notwith¬
19 standing it is used as a culinary vegetable only, it has, like
20 potatoes, &c. its peculiar acrimony, which is dissipated by
21 boiling; but, in its raw state, it. has proved an efficacious
22 remedy.

35 Don ee is a well-known remedy, in the Punjab. It is composed
36 of red-rice, peeled sweet-almonds, white poppy-seeds and sugar_
37 vo7y palatable, and useful in dry cough.
