5 that he must make some good arrangements by
6 which he may live peaceably, or else the Maha-
7 rajah intends to march against him after the
8 Dusseerah ; and tell him not to say that he was
9 not forewarned.
10 F.— What your Highness ordered is writ-
11 ten.
12 M.—Very well: send it by the Vakeel.
13 To resume the dialogue :—
14 Maharajah.—Call the Rajah Dhyan Singh.
15 Rajah.—I am here, your Highness.
16 M.—Rajah, send five of your own orderlies,
17 and write to every place, that a gentleman is
18 coming to Lahore by the Attock road: give him
19 one hundred rupees at every stage, twenty
20 maunds of flour, two maunds of rice, a maund
21 of ghee, fifty fowls, ten pots of milk and curds
22 to wash his hair with, five hundred eggs, fire-
23 wood, earthen pots, and whatever he may re-
24 quire: let him have a guard at every stage.
25 Rajah, this is your charge.
26 R.—Truly spoken, your Highness.
27 M.—Misher, send Fattoo Bhayya to call the
28 Jemidar Kooshiyal Singh.
29 The Jemidar arrives.
