8 to Sehwan, and sixteen miles south-east of the former town. It
9 is situate two miles west of the Indus, near the southern ex-
10 tremity of a dund, or small lake, replenished by that river during
11 inundation. Lat. 26° 8’, long. 68° 2’.

13 pose lear range, and forming a natural boundary between the Belooche
14 poe as aco province of Lus and Sinde. If we consider their northern limit
15 from Kurrachee to to be in lat. 26°, where the Hala range become’ contracted to about
16 Fen ad coch, thirty miles in breadth,? and their southern to be Cape Monze,
17 252, ’ their length will be found to be about ninety miles. In lat. 25° 3’,
18 long. 66° 50’, they are crossed by the route from Kurrachee to
19 3 Uteupra, 185. Sonmeanee, at the pass of Guncloba, described by Hart as
20 ‘* stony, of trifling ascent, and the descent equally gentle.” The
21 highest part appears to be about lat. 25° 30’, where native re-
22 port represents the elevation as great, though it does not probably
23 baie: exceed that of the mountains of Western Sinde, considered to be
24 iil, 265. about 2,000 feet.*
25 ee Rajwaray PUBBERWALEE, in Bhawlpoor, a village between the town
26 of Bhawlpoor and fort of Delawur, and eighteen miles south-west
27 of the former place. It is situate on a canal, which conveys from
28 the Indus a supply of water indispensable for irrigation, and even
29 for the support of life in this arid region. Lat. 29° 11’, long.

34 the town of Chumba, and situate in lat. 32° 26’, long. 75° 28’,

36 ‘Wood's Oxus, 176; Mountains in Afghanistan. It is a subordinate range to that of
37 Se Hindoo Koosh, running along its southern base for about a hun-
38 dred miles, in a direction in some degree parallel to the crest of
39 that stupendous chain, and in general from north-east to south~
40 west. Its northern face forms the southern boundary to the level
41 and fertile valley of Ghorbund ; its south-eastern brow overhangs
