7 In 1893-94 the through- traffic business, which is entirely
8 transacted at the Warthganj Depot, comprised 87°84 per cent.
9 of the whole trade of the division. In 1892-93 it amounted to
10 86:48 per cent., in 1891-92 tn 88°32, and in 1890-91 to 87°54
11 per cent. In the year under review it fell to 86°60 per cent.,
12 the depression in the year’s trade having occurred chieft
13 Warthganj, The sales, through-tratlic and ordinary, at the
14 Warthganj Depdt comprised 89°87 per cent. of the entire trade
15 in rock salt against 91°34 per cent. and 92°39 in the two previous
16 years. :
17 20. Maunds 17,83,646 of rock salt were delivered or issued
18 to traders during 1894-95 against maunds 20,68,221 in 1893-94.
19 The following comparative statement shows for the past four
20 years the quantity cleared and removed by railway, and by road
21 and river for consumption :—(1) within the Punjab, including
22 Kashmir, Sind and Baluchistan (the quantity for the two last
23 areas is unimportant), and (2) in other areas, viz., the North-
24 Western Provinces, Oudh, and Behar in the Lower Provinces
25 of Bengal.
