SALT REVENUE DEPARTMENT FOR THE OFFICIAL YEAR 1902-1603.
Only about three-fourths of the establishment derive
any benefit from the hospital that is maintained in the tract,
as the men on the upper portion of the river are nearer to
Pachbadra than to Bhatki. The medical establishment of
the tract was abolished on the recommendation of the
Finance Commission under the orders of the Government of
India in 1886. ,Mr. Carey, however, recommended the re
establishment of the hospital and dispensary in his letter No.
44-C,, dated the 19th June 18go0, and his proposal was sanc-
tioned in letter of the Finance Department No. 3126, dated
the 28th June 1890. The cost of the hospital is Rs. 1,161
a year. It is a convenience to the people in the vicinity, ‘and
it is also a convenience to our Inspector and the petty
officers and peons in the guard posts near Bhatki. I have not
therefore considered it necessary to propose any change in the
existing arrangements.
