3 now and for some years past, salt sold at the leased salt sources
4 in Rajputéna for consumption in Bikanir is issued on payment
5 of full duty,.one-half of which is subsequently refunded by this
6 department toe the Darbar. Th® arrangement continues to
7 work well. In 1894-95 the sales for consumption in Bikanir
8 have amounted to maunds 15,675, and the half duty due
9 thereon to the Darbar to Rs, 19,594. Out of this amount
10 Rs, 14,071 have already been paid to the Darbar through
11 the Comptroller, India ‘Treasuries, and the remainder,
12 viz., Rs. 5,528, is now under settlement. In 1892-93 mauuds
13 12,928, and in 1893-94 maunds 18,396, were sold, and declared
14 for consumption in Bikanir, and on these quantities refunds
15 were paid.
16 6. The statement entered in this paragraph shows the tresty payments,
17 sums annually payable under the salt treaties and agreements:
18 to the Darbars in RAjputéna and Central India, and to Bahawal-
19 pur and to the Istamrdrddrs and Jagirdérs of Ajmere and
20 others, and the amounts that were actually disbursed in
21 the year under report. The total amount payable in 1894-95
22 is Rs. 29,31,068-4-5; and the amount disbursed comes to
23 Rs. 28,19,863-4-5.
