4 GURHWAL DIVISION.
5 61. There were 331 petty cases of breachos of forest rules in this division, as
6 follows :—

10 Of these, 330 were disposed of off-hand by tho Forest Officer in charge, small fines
11 were inflicted in 298 cases, 31 were dismissed, 1 remains undecided, and 1 only
12 was of sufficient importance to be brought before the District Magistrate, in which a
13 conviction was obtained.
14 62. The old agreement (dated and executed on the 24th October, 1870) with
15 Motece Ram Sah, Forest Treasurer of Kumaon and Gurhwal, was cancelled on the 30th
16 Octobor, 1871, and a new agreement executed on the following day. <A copy of this
17 agreement was sont to Government, North-Western Provinces, and approved of by His
18 Honor tho Lieutenant-Governor.
19 63. Motee Ram Sah now reccives Rs. 112-8-0 per mensem as pay of tehscel
20 establishments for receiving and disbursing money, and an annual sum of Rs. 130 for
21 contingencies, stationery, &c. During the year the following sums were paid to the
22 Treasurer under the terms of the old agreement :—
