5 Order applying the Slave Trade Act, 39 & 40 Vict., cap, 46, to Mekran and the
6 Coasts of Baluchistan.
7 No. 1664-P., dated the 13th July, 1877,—The following order of Her Majesty
8 in Council is published for general information :—

13 Wueexas by an Act of Parliament made and passed in the Session of’ Parliament holden in
14 the thirty-ninth and fortieth years of Her Majesty's reign, intituled “ An Act for more effectually
15 punishing offences against the laws relating to the Slave Trade,” it is, amongst other things,
16 enacted that—
17 If any person, being a subject of Her Majesty, or of any Prince or State in India in alliance
18 with Her Majesty, shall, upon the High Seas or in any part of Asia or Africa which Her Majesty
19 may from time to time think fit to specify by any Order in Council in this behalf, commit any of
20 the offences defined in sections 367, 370 and 371 (in the Schedule to thia Act respectively recited)
21 of Act XLV of 1860, passed by the Governor General of India in Council, and called “ The Indian
22 Penal Code,” or abet, within the meaning of the fifth Chapter of the said Penal Code, the commis-
23 sion of any such offence, such Lege shall be dealt with in respect of such offence or abetment as if
24 the sme ad been committed in any place within British India in which he may be or may be
25 ound.
26 Now, therefore, in pursuance and by virtue of the said recited Act of Parliament, Her Majesty
27 is pleared, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, that the
28 said Aot shall apply to the several parts of Asia and Africa hereinafter specified ; that is to say—
29 (a) The territories of the Khdn of Kalat and of the Sultan of Muscat in Mekran and Arabia.
30 (d) aie peer “ Baluchistan, and of the Bunder Abbas Districts, and the shores of the Per-
31 sian Gulf.
32 ‘9 The coast of Arabia from Ras Mussendom to Cape Babel-Mandeb.
33 d) The territories of the following tribes near Aden, namely,—
34 The Abdali. The Amir.
35 The Foodli. The Subahi.
36 The Akrabi. The Yafai.
37 The Howshabi. The Oulaki.
38 The Alawi.
39 (e) The coast of Africa from Ras Sejarme to Delagoa Bay.
40 ) The territories of the Sultan of Zanzibar.
41 (g) The sea and islands witbin ten degrees of latitude or longitude from such coasts and
42 shores, respectively.
43 And the Right Honourable the Marquis of Salisbury, and the Right Honourable the Earl of Derby
44 and the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty are to give the necessary directions herein as to
45 them may respectively appertain.
