12 in Bhawalpur territory on the border of the Multan
13 District of the Panjab, and required for the head-works
14 of the Bhawalwah-Lodran Canal: In exercise of such
15 jurisdiction, and of the powers conferred by sections 4
16 and 6 of Act XXI1 of 1879 (the Foreign Jurisdiction
17 and Extradition Act, 1879), the Governor General in
18 Council is pleased to notify as follows :—
19 1. All laws for the time being in force in the Multan
20 District of the Multan Division are hereby ex-
21 tended to the aforesaid portion of land.
22 2. The Deputy Commissioner of the Multan District
23 and the Commissioner of the Multan Division, for
24 the time being, and the Chief Court of the Panjab,
25 respectively, shall exercise within the aforesaid por-
26 tion of Jand the same executive powers as they may
27 respectively exercise within the British territories
28 * gubject to their jurisdiction.
29 8, All British Courts having jurisdiction within the
30 Multan District shall exercise the same jurisdiction
31 within the aforesaid portion of land.
32 4. Within tke aforesaid portion of land the administra-
33 tion of the police shall be vested in the District
34 Superintendent of Police in the Multan District,
35 who shall exercise the same police powers as may be
36 exercised by District Superintendents of Police
37 under any law for the time being in force in the
38 Multan District, in subordination to the Deputy
39 Commissioner of the Multan District and the In-
40 spector-General of Police in the Panjab.
