13 M ybrha— is a well known gum*resin, officinal in the East, as
14 well as in Europe The Hakims u e myrrh in mucous accumu¬
15 lations, pulmonary ulcers chronic cough, induration <4 the
16 liver, intestinal worms, and am crotch mu; they maintain that it
17 can cause abortion,

19 *Myrtuk communis. Myrtus Pimmta vel Eugenia Fgnpnta
20 * -its leaves and fruit are officinal at Lahore; and are, probably,
21 imported from Persia. The leases are used, in cerebral affec¬
22 tions, as epilepsy, etc.; also in flatulency, diseases of the stomach
23 and liver. The fruit .is administered in diarrhoea, haemorrhages
24 with burning heat, and in ulcerations which principally affect
25 the lower parts, ns the urethra, or womb. The reverse is—
