6 have its own peculiar properties, such as are not to be found in
7 any other sort of rhubarb.

16 regarded as superior to the Cashtnerean rhubarb, but inferior
17 to the Ii. Khutei,; both kinds are, f believe, brought from
18 Chinese-Tartarv to Hindustan.

29 where it is much and deservedly used by the Hakims.

32 Rhus Ivakhastn’chea—K akr asi n g h e e is officinal with
33 both Hakims and Hindoo doctors at Lahore. In the Materia
34 Medica of the latter, its use lifts been handed down from
35 olden times. These vegetable excrescences are, probably, pro¬
36 duced by the deposit of eggs of a certain insect on that kind of
