18 They are much used to w ish silk-cloth. With water they pro¬
19 duce a froth like a solution of soap. They are recommended as
20 expectorants, and in chlorosis. The seeds pounded with water,
21 it is stated, often put an end to the epileptic paroxysm, a small
22 quantify being introduced into the patient’s uiouth.

25 Sapujm Indicium—- is not known at Lahore. I received some
26 of its nuts from the botanical garden at Calcutta, which I tried
27 medicinally. They were as large as nutmegs, and had a seed in
28 the interior. The juice, is reported to be very poisonous. Used
29 for intoxicating fishes.
