4 “All subjects of the Britis Government and
5 those who possess estates on both sides the river
6 Sutlege, who by their faithful adherence to the
7 British Government may be liable to sustain loss,
8 shall be indemnified and secured in all their just
9 rights and privileges.
10 “ On the other hand, all subjects of the British
11 Government who shall continue in the service of
12 the Lahore state, and who disobey this procla-
13 mation by not immediately returning to their
14 allegiance, will be liable to have their property
15 on this side the Sutlege confiscated, and de-
16 clared to be aliens and enemies of the British
17 Government.
