8 Khan (o.Kabool. umber of inhabitants in the village and adjacent district, which
9 bears the same name, is about 3,000. There is a good supply

20 wide, running between low hills; capable, however, of being
21 defended against a greatly superior force. It is sometimes called
22 the Ghuznee Pass. The elevation above the sea is estimated at

28 latter place. It is situate on the bank of a feeder of the river of
29 Kabool, near the southern entrance of the fine valley of Maidan.
