21 PACHLAWE, in Afghanistan, a village situate on the route
22 from Kandahar to Khash, and seventy miles west of the former
23 town. Itis situate in the doab, or tract between the rivers Ur-
24 gundab and Helmund, and close to their confluence. Lat. 31°
25 31’, long. 64° 17’.
26 PADEE ZHUR, on the coast of Beloochistan, an inlet of the
27 Arabian Sea, on the west side of Ras Arubah. Lat. 25° 10’, long.
28 64° 21’.
29 PADRA, in Sinde, a village on the middle route from Bukkur
30 to Hyderabad, and a hundred miles north of the latter town. Lat.
31 26° 47’, long. 68° 13’,
32 PADREE, in the Punjab, -a village on the route from Julal-
33 poor to Attock, and fifteen miles north of the formertown. Lat.
34 32° 54’, long, 73° 13’.
35 PAEESHT KHANA, in Beloochistan, an expansion of the
36 Moola pass, about forty miles south-west of its western termina-
37 tion. It is a fertile spot, inhabited by Brahuis, who live in dwell-
38 ings made of mats, cultivate wheat, rice, and pulse, and keep
39 numerous flocks of sheep and goats. The less fertile parts are
40 overgrown with the kuril, or wild caper-tree; the bar, or Indian
41 fig-tree, and mimosas. At this place the direct road, which
42 proceeds nearly south from Kelat by Panduran, joins the
43 Moola pass. The elevation of Paeesht Khana is 3,500 feet.

45 PAHARPOOR, in the Punjab, a village on the route from
46 Mooltan to Leia, and twenty miles south of the lattertown. It
47 is situate on the left bank of an offset of the Indus, in the low
48 fertile tract stretching north and south between the main channel
49 and the desert, and laid under water in the season of inundation.
50 Lat. 30° 40’, long. 71°.
51 PAHARPOOR,! in Afghanistan, a considerable town of the
52 Derajat, situate where the route branches off westward to Tak,
53 from the route northward through Dera Ismael Khan. EI-
54 phinstone? describes it as scarcely less than Dera Ismael Khan.
