1 SALT REVENUE DEPARTMENT FOR THR OFFICIAL YEAR 1894-95,
2 Separately the Sambhar Lake has produced salt for these
3 thirteea years at an average cost, rent, royalty and all charges
4 included, of 3 annas 3°07 pies per maund, and has sold it at an
5 average cost of 4 annas 1°67 pies per maund, realizing a profit
6 of 10°60 pies per maund. The other four minor sources, on the
7 same principle of calculation have made a loss of 1 anna and
8 #42 pies per maund. WBut.for all the five sources combined a
9 profit works out of Rs, 5,47,271 for the entire period, or per
10 maund of salt sold of 5:05 pies.
11 65. Finally the statement.showing the total expenditure
12 which must be recouped from selling price, and the total sale
13 price realizations from the year 1870-71 (the year in which the
14 Sambhar Lake was leased) to the end of 1894-95, which was
15 first printed in thé annual report of this department for 1889-.
16 90, is republished complete to the end of the year. The treaty
17 and royalty payments, included in the total charges in column
18 3 of the statement, have been calculated in the manner in-
