4 ° No half duty salt is now igsued.. The Bikanir Durbar
5 was the only one entitled to receive that concession up toa
6 limit of maunds 20,000 annually, and by an arrangement come
7 to some” years ago, and already repeatedly explained, salt sold
8 for constimption in Bikanir is now issued on payment of full
9 duty, one-half of this duty being subsequeatly refunded by
10 this Department to the Durbdar. ” This arrangement continues
11 to work well. The sales declared for® Bikanir in 1893-94
12 amounted to maunds 13,396, being maunds 6,604 less than the
13 amount on which half-duty might have been obtained. The
14 half-duty already paid to the Durbar through the Comptroller
15 amounts to Rs. 10,140, and the remaining sum due, viz,
16 Rs. 6,605, is under adjustment. ;
17 -6. The following statement shows in detail the sums
18 annually payable under the salt treaties and agreements to the
19 Native States in Rajputana and Central India aad to Bahawal-
20 pur, and. the amounts that were actually paid in the year under
21 report. The amount payable in 1893-94 is Rs. 30,11,066-2-5,
22 and the amount paid is Rs. 30,76,390-14-1. The latter sum
23 includes Rs. 64,500 paid in 1894-95 to the Udeypur Durbar
24 as follows :—Arrears on accoynt of 1892- 93, Rs. 24,253, and
25 paid in advance on account of 1894-95, Rs. "40, 247. Rs. 825,
26 arrears on account of 1892-93, were also paid in the year under
27 report to the Senior and Junior Branches of Dewas. For the
28 purpose of balancing the account, it mustalso be explained that
29 only the round sum of Rs. 84, 753. was paid as royalty to the
30 Jeypur Durbar, leaving 4 annas and 4 pies unpaid :—
