24 ' The total increase in the trade, comparing one year with the
25 other, is maunds 2,79,068, out of which the consignments sent
26 to the railway for distribution to the North-Westera Provinces
27 and Oudh markets account for maunds 1,76,450. The follow-
28 ing show the principal markets and railway stations to which
29 the salt was sent and the quantities they received :—Cawnpore
30 (maunds 4,419), Delhi (maunds 14,144), Deoband (maunds 3,332),
31 Dhampur (maunds 6,616), Fyzabad (maunds 2,313), Hansi
32 (maunds 2,199), Hissar (maunds 2,099), Karnal (maunds 1,571),
33 Nagina (maunds 10,633), Najibabad (maunds 7,829), Muzaffar-
34 nagar (maunds 25,758), Pilibhit (maunds 1,879), and Sahdranpur
35 (maunds 5,453). The consignments across country to Bhiwani
36 for consumption in Karnal, Delhi, Sahdranpur, Muzaffarnagar
37 (and Meerut and Bulandshahr this year) account for mawnds
38 70,262. To other places in the Punjab besides Bhiwani, there
39 was a net increase of 5,100 thaunds, and to Shekhawati and Jey-
40 pur, to that extent taking the place of Sambhar, an increase of
41 maunds 3,492. The trade to Bikanir expanded frem maunis
42 9,443 to maunds 10,907, or by maunds 1,464. and the total exports
43 altogether for the replacing of Sambhar salt to Kishengarh,
44 Jhalrapatan, Kotah and Tonk in Rajputana amounted in 1 "3-04
45 to maunds 22,300. No Didwana salt was in previous years sent
46 to these States.
