2 " Government is to promulgate a Tariff', or table of
3 " duties leviable on each kind of goods, as the case
4 " may be."
5 Article VI. " That whatever portions of former
6 " Treaties entered into between the two States which
7 *' have not been altered and modified by the present one,
8 " remain firm and unaltered, as well as those stipulations
9 '• now concluded, and by the blessing of God, no devia-
10 " tion from them shall ever happen."
11 Article VII. " That the friendly intercourse between
12 ** the two States shall be kept up by the dispatch of
13 " Vakeels whenever the transaction of business, or the
14 " encrease of the relations of friendship may render it
15 " desirable."
16 The following Supplemental Engagement was also
17 concluded with Meer Moorad Ulee Khan: —
18 " The following Articles of Engagement having been
19 ** agreed on, and settled on the22d April, 1832, between
20 ** the Hon'ble East India Company and his Highness
21 *' Meer Moorad Ali Khan Talpoor Buhadoor,
22 " Ruler of Hydurabad, in Sindh, as supplemental to the
23 *' Treaty concluded on the 20th April 1832, through the
24 " Agency of Lieutenant Colonel Henry Pottinoer,
25 " Envoy on the part of the said Hon'ble East India
26 " Company, under full power and authority vested in him
27 " by the Right Hon'ble Lord William Cavendish
28 " Bentinck, g. c. b. and g. c. ii.. Governor General
29 " of the British Possessions in India : this Engagement
30 " has been given in writing at Shimla, this day, the 19th
31 " June 1832, both in English and Persian, in token of
32 " the perfect confirmation and acknowledgment of the
33 " obligations which it contains, in the manner following :
