1 ; idiot, ancl : seeing a crowd of men, elephants, camels,
2 and carts coming towards him, enquired what they
3 meant, and whither they were going 2 The people
4 replied. “ That is Gooroo Urjun.” JBoodha said,
5 " What 2 Are the Gooroos running mad 2” They
6 answered, ** No, Urjun is coming to see you, and
7 requests the intercession of your prayers for a son.”
8 On hearing this, Boodha began to dance and clap
9 his hands, reciting or singing the following lines ;
10 i “ Beta hoga, beta ho,
11 ' Jiske juesa hooa ne Ito;
12 Sub Bhayon ka ko sutaj
13 Ruhega wooh sub kee ilaj.”*
14 When Urjun heard these words, lie was delighted, Hm- Govind
15 apd Returned to his home. After a time Hur Go rind
16 was born. As a youth, he was full of wisdom,
17 and eminently beautiful in appearance and form,.
18 At tin's time, Chundooshah was prime minister at
19 Lahore, and there was enmity between him and
20 Urjun, on , the following account.
21 Chundooshah had a beautiful daughter, whom Feud with
22 his father wished to bestow in marriage on Uis; Cnuml<wsha ’ ,u
23 Successor in office; this resolution he communicated
24 to his friends, hut they advised, him to give her in
25 marriage to. Urjun’s son, as he was a very comely
26 youth. Chundooshah spurned the advice, and
27 added “ Though Urjun is a wealthy man and a
28 Hindoo Gooroo, still he is. a fukeer. I am like the
29 * Meaning that there would toe a son where none existed, and that all
30 the Goftroos vvoiild exert themselves in procuring a remedy for Uijun’s
31 auction.
