15 The working refineriés, which were 35 more in 1894-95
16 than in 1893-94, increased once more this year by 36. More
17 crude saltpetre by maunds 3,75,066 was dissolved, and the
18 outturn of refined saltpetre increased by as nearly as possible
19 two lakhs of maunds, or from 7,26,287 to maunds 9,28,199, the
20 increase upon 1893-94 being no less than maunds 3,387,385.
21 The outturn of saltpetre, salt too, has increased in proportion to,
22 and indeed, in greater proportion than, that of refined saltpetre,
23 which is a very satisfactory feature in the year’s operations.
24 The yield of salt was in 1894-95 maunds 1,14,534 upon maunds
25 12,24,090 of crude saltpetre dealt with, or 9°36 per cent. Last
26 year it was maunds 1,56,301 upon maunds 15,99,156 of crude
27 saltpetre used in refineries, or 9°77 per.cent.

29 the North-Western Provinces and Oudh, the Patna and the
30 Bhagulpur Divisions, and in Calcutta, are given separately in
