4 Notifications relating to the carriage, Se., of Salt—concluded,
5 Provided that no snch declaration shall be made in respect of any salt until the expiration of
6 one fortnight after notice in wriging of the intention to make such declaration has been served
7 upon the owneg or consignor of such salt, or, where such owner or consignor cannot be found, after
8 auch notice has been posted at the place where such salt is stored, and, if such salt was conveyed to
9 such place as aforeanid by rail from another place within the aforesaid portions of land, also at the
10 place from which such salt was despatched.
11 (8) Nothing herein contained shall be deemed to impose any duty on salt covered by a pass
12 stating that auch salt is free salt furnished under treaty to some Native Prince or Chief.

14 No. 23J., dated the 14th February, 1879.—Whereas His Highness * ad bd c
15 the KRdjd of Nabha and His Highness the Nawab of Pataudi have granted to the British Gov-
16 ernment full jurisdiction within those portions of land forming the Rajputana State Railwa
17 (including land occupied as stations, out-buildings, and for other purposes connected with the Rail-
18 way) which lie within thoir respective territories: In exercise of such jurisdiction, and of the
19 ower conferred by section 31 of Act VIII of 1876(?) (the Inland Customs Act), the Governor
20 eneral in Council 1s pleased to invest all Traffic Managers, Assistant Traffic Managers, Station
21 Masters, Assistant Station Masters and Goods Cle:ks, and also all Superintendents, Assistant
22 Superintendents, and Inspectors’of Police on the said Rajputana State Railway, within the afore-
23 said portions of land, with all the powers of stoppage and seizure conferred on Customs officers
24 under the said Act.
